Grieving with Charleston

Today, June 19, we at All Our Kin celebrate the 150th anniversary of the emancipation of slaves throughout the Confederate South. We stand with Black children and families who continue to encounter discrimination and violence on a daily basis, and our thoughts are with Charleston as it grieves for the nine victims of Wednesday’s shooting at the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church, a place of Black worship and resistance for the past 200 years.
